"Just a thick cardboard. MDF or ply works the best but for small molds cardboard does a pretty reasonable job."

"Thanks Tim, when I am sculpting hands are attached with K&S tubing to the arms to hold them in place. When I cast the hands there will also be tubing attached to the hand armature which will then fit into the corresponding tubing in the arms…"
