"I think I like this one the best of all, as you can see in the picture that it is possible to adjust the bearings so they are tight against the rails. Carbon fibre is good, but stainless steel is also fine for the rails. Also seems very good…"

"Hi there. Both the Ashanks and the ANJ sliders look pretty good. They are designed for live-action and time-lapse work, so I assume they have a stepper motor to do the incremental steps. It may be that the Kessler is not using steppers, so that is…"

"if you use a low reduction ratio: 100: 1 or even 41: 1, etc.you will spend a lot of time trying the movement and having a perception of the final movement, it's clear that you can not get the live movement. If going from the beginning and end…"

"I like the Ashanks slider better, because the bearing are wider. They might be adjustable too. The other one, Yimidear, that I did suggest previously, looks like the bearings are not adjustable at all. If you go for the Ashanks one, there is another…"

"The Arduino Mega 2560 is ideal for motion control, and the 8825 drivers are good for 1.5A without air cooling. They can cope with 2A if you add a small fan, like a computer fan, into the box where you fit them. They are better than the 4988 drivers,…"

"They look similar to the Igus sliders, but they are not ball bearing, which is what you need for a moco rig. They are also quite narrow, and a rig ideally needs a wide base - 200mm or so. Narrow bases mean the rig is more likely to wobble, because…"

"Hi there. The nema 17 motors you have are not very powerful, they are rated at 23 N/cm, which means they can hold 2.3kg at 1cm from the shaft centre. At 2cm this drops to 1.15kg, and so on. Probably OK for the focus motor, but not enough for the…"
