Hope no one is offended by the non-animation nature of this post. Thought I'd share my latest Halloween mask sculpt. A more elaborate mask than what I'm wearing in my profile picture, but made in almost the same way. It's supposed to be Minotaur, but kinda has a horse or yak quality to it. Either way, it was a fun build. Started on Monday evening and finished by Saturday afternoon. A crazy build considering the nature of the materials used. Rigid Wrap, cardboard, and Celluclay. It think it turned out well. It weighs a ton, but I inadvertently built it well balanced. Lucky break. This is the silly stuff I do that keeps me from finishing my stop motion projects, ha!

Not so silly, I like it!  I do see the Yak and Horse in it, also a bit of Where the wild Things Are.  Nice texture on the head.

What is the hairy body made from?

It's a ghillie suit. Used by bow hunters, apparently. Bought it at Scheels, a big sporting goods store. A kind of camouflage. Military snipers use them as well, often made with twigs and leaves. I just liked the look of it and didn't have time to make a more Greek styled costume.

Trick or treat. Great, not offended at all.

I am deeply offended - and disturbed!!

Lol not really!! Excellent mask work, even if it doesn't look that much like a bull. I think you'd pretty much need to include the neck to really get that bull look, and you can't really do that unless you put the eyeholes in the neck..

Personally I like seeing other things people are doing - it helps to get to know people a little better on the board.

It's weird to call it a throw away piece, but I really did just create it to wear at a party. After a certain point in the build up, it was hard to make substantial changes without adding a week of drying time. So happy Yak or not, it was fun for the time I put into it. I'll post my set and puppet progress as soon as I find them not so embarrassing
