Can anyone advise me what setting I should use when importing an .avi file 640 x 480 at 15 fps into Premiere Pro CS6. There's a huge list of possibilities but I can't find anything to match. All advice greatly received, not too technical please. Ta.....Keith
I don't think you have to specify settings before importing files to PrPro. My book says you can throw just about anything at it and it will handle it. Just import the footage into the Project panel, then double-click it to open it in the source monitor.
The settings you have to specify are for the project itself, i.e. the output. You then convert raw footage to fit. Hope this helps.
Once you have the footage in the project panel, you can right-click it then specify Modify and Interpret Footage, which will allow you to change the parameters.
Thanks for the advice Simon, I'm still persevering, just in case it is of interest the problem seems to be a wierd mismatch between the footage I am trying to edit and the titler in PremPro. I can do everything I want until I come to put a title on and then the programme crashes. The solution has been to export the project as something else, in my case H.264, and then re-import when PremPro seems happy to work with it, that took about 5 hrs to work out. Computers....Love 'em/Hate 'em. Thanks again.
