Hello all. I am trying to figure out what my first digital camera should be. my local camera shop is selling a re furbished Cannon T6i with a w/18-55 m lense for a very good price. being new to the digital camera world i was hoping someone might give me an opinion on this. would be greatly appreciated.
The camera should work well for stop motion. It is compatible with Dragonframe: https://www.dragonframe.com/camera-setup/canon_eos_1300d/ But i would probably not use the standard 18-55mm kit lens, or any Canon lens, for animation, because they don't put an aperture ring on the lens to set the f-stop. I use Nikon or Olympus manual lenses, with a Nikon-to-Canon or Olympus OM-to-Canon adapter, so I can set the aperture on the lens itself, and not have the camera open it up between shots. The lens is good for general photography though.
Thanks Nick. yes i am aware of not using the Cannon lens after reviewing some older threads and reading in particular what you had to say about Nikon lenses and such. thanks again. and by the way your work and various tutorials are great.
