For airborne dust, an air filtration unit like those used in wood shops might help. You can probably make a makeshift one from an air filter and a box fan on the cheap. Nothing beats a thorough cleaning first, though.
Here are some types of filtration units to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
Thanks, Dennis. Following the images I located several interesting devices. Now the question is to choose one of them. I think a little home device may serve. Really I don't want to build it, my god! I have enought with the sets and puppets!
I liked this picture. The guy was also tired of building things (like me) ha ha...
LOL! I have a collection of bits and parts to make one myself eventually, but that one looks really easy to assemble!
Increase moisture in the air. The fibers in the dust will absorb it and then come down. A cheap way of doing it would be to simply boil water. The water vapor will do the rest.
You will still need to vacuum once this is done.
Thanks for the idea, Blackshore.
Finally, I bought a domestic filtering machine. It has several functions, one of them is that you say, put ions on air that combine with particles and they fall to floor.
I connect the unit several hours before begin working with clay, air is clean but I get small fibbers in clay sometimes. I have the impression that my own clothes are expelling micro fibbers all time .
You can also use antimatter from what I have learned from watching Tom Hanks movies. :V
As you can see, you can clean an entire city in seconds (0:55)
Probably wise to animate stark naked to avoid dust trapped in clothing....!
Strider, I put on my astronaut suit when I broke my rig. I needed animate a bouncing ball and I went to outer space. There, you don't need rigs at all; you put the ball in air and it keep there while you take the picture!
Blackshore, best use for antimatter is add it to postal shipping, as it has negative mass, it reduces the weight of the pack and it becomes cheaper!
Simon, it was an embarrassing situation when my wife and sons discovered me making plasticine puppets the first time: "I'm doing a film", I said... (really it sounds better into my mind than when I said it).
I don't want to think if they discover me NAKED making plasticine puppets, and then say: "I'm doing a film"... my god!
