So I want to create multiples of my animation character to be used for different purposes , I am quite confident with silicone and plaster mould making so that part shouldn't be a problem.
I need to have 3 (or more would be nice) versions of my character, (the cute 4 eyed monster in my photo) one in plasticine with an armature inside which is easy enough to just sculpt, but I need a copy of this to slice up / destroy for another scene and am not really willing to destroy the original / the armature will pose a problem . But I do need an identical model or two which would be too tricky to re sculpt by eye.
Ive experimented with melting and casting in Monster Clay which is great but just isnt flexible enough for animation unless I'm in a really hot room , plasticine would be ideal but would I be able to melt it and cast it into a silicone mould like I usually do with Monster Clay ?
Ive struggled to find anything online that says whether it is safe to melt and cat plasticine so am a bit tentative to try, if anyone knows of anything similar in quality that could be melted and cast that would be amazing!
Any Advice would be most welcome , I'm completely new to this and may have taken on an over ambitious project .
