Some character animation and noir film style attempts. Using resin cast replacement face parts, silicone hands, shoes and neck, handmade suit, wire armature. Sound clips from THE BIG SLEEP.

Brilliant! I'm doing a similar 1940's type character and I like your use of replacement mouths. Is the head cast in resin?

Yeah, it's my take on Josh and Nathan Flynn's techniques they blogged about years ago (google them if you haven't seen the blogs already!)

Great replacement face work!  Will you have to paint out the line frame by frame in post?

Thanks! Yeah, that was the plan. I have yet to find a way to do it convincingly...

I might suggest Mocha Pro and their Removal tool. I've used it for removing moving foreground images and other things. Basically, create a mask of what you want removed, then the software compares frames before and after to create new image in masked area.  http://www.imagineersystems.com/video?tagFilter=Remove%20Module&...

Other option, Mamba FX. They have paint tool that does this same thing. http://www.sgo.es/mamba-fx-video-tutorials/  Scrolled down to Core Features and it's the Vector Paint video.

Or BlackMagicDesign Fusion, free version has paint node for rig and wire removal that would probably work.

Ah great, thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely look in to them

Hi Ernest. I've just downloaded BlackMagic Fusion (always the cheapskate) and I'm afraid this kind of stuff is a bit beyond me, and there's very little online instructions. Would you mind explaining roughly how it would remove the lines? Cheers.
