Stop motion showreel 2012 - Roos Mattaar

I am currently a second year student at the Bristol school of animation. This is a collection of my stop motion animation work so far, most completed in 2012, and some work from before. Some are exercises and others are part from current bigger projects or tests from yet to finish projects.

The description is just the direct same thing how I wrote it down on vimeo. But well... besides now being a student in Bristol, I've been a student at these boards all the time from the first time trying my hand at stop motion in 2008, and without all the great help here I wouldn't have been where I am now, which is still at the beginning of my 'journey'. So just wanted to share here how I have been taking all the good advice onwards since, continuing my learning. :)

That's really nice work! One bit that really caught my eye was the pulling of the stone. the feeling of weight and resistance was fantastic.

Your work is really awesome. My favorite part is the birds.

Bravo!  Lovely stuff!

I am looking forward to your personal film - we saw some of the set construction before on this board, and the little bit of animation on those sets here really makes me want to see more.

Than you so much. :) And great to hear how you all like different bits. The stone pulling was an exercise from last year. The bird animation has been the first time really completing all animation for a short film..we just finished animating last week and the film will be completed in january. The bird puppets I cobstructed were based on someibe else's design.. The personal project should now be the next thing to complete... While learning new things fron from every new puppet, I may have to improve the puppet for that set, as I was struggling with his balance (the one with the vreen coat).. For anyone interested, I have been working on a new online portfolio place too: stopmoroos.wix.com/roos-mattaar
sorry Nick for 'stealing' your username style.. Being the first thing coming to mind needing another username, it also shows where some of my strongest inspiration comes from I suppose. These comments therefore also really mean a lot to me. Thank you all again. Finished films soon to follow.. :)
