online resources for the stop motion animation community since 1999
My first stop animation project about a box who hopelessly falls in love with another after drinking a little too much at a bar. I hope you all enjoy and your feedback would be greatly appreciated
Heh - that was a fun story with a little twist in the tail. But are you sure it is stop motion? There is a form of stopmotion that is 2d - it is called cut-out animation. But this doesn't look like actual paper cutouts being moved by hand to me. There are no shadows from the edges of the paper, no texture, and everything is too clean and smooth - what it looks like is 2d animation done in a computer program.
That is still animation, but not stop motion. Stop motion is done by moving real objects by hand and photographing them a frame at a time. It is not a term that covers all animation, especially not computer animation.
Sorry about that. I thought this was covered under stop motion. I used photoshop and manipulated the individual components in each frame. I didn't think I had to use real objects for it to fall in the category of stop motion. Nonetheless, I greatly appreciate the information.
