Made this for last month's 11 Second Club challenge. "Lynn" is made entirely out of Sculpey and Van Aken clay, with the exception of her wire and brass tube skeleton. It took three off and on weeks to build the puppet and three 10-12 hour days to animate.

Awesome work, man! The Sculpey is unbaked? I'm curious how you got it to bend without breaking.

Amazing character animation!

Thanks! All of the Sculpey is baked, I used it for the "bones" and grab points. The rest is Van Aken.

Grats on 2nd place, can i just ask how you kept your puppet so clean..? is it just the clay? (never handled Van Aken because its hard to get in Australia)

I would never think of using baked sculpey as the bones...Wow!

And if you wanted it to be even lighter weight, you could use something like DAS air-dry clay.

Very nice puppet and movement!

The voice is also very good.

The puppet only LOOKS clean. If I shot a close-up you would see all of the lint, dust, and dirt embedded into the surface. I did my best with baby wipes between frames, and when it started getting too dirty I would scrape off the surface and add new clay. I had to re-sculpt the body and legs multiple times.

Perfect harmony of voice and animation performances!

I work with clay also and what amazes me is that clay looks better in pictures than in real life. Dust and stains are barely visible even at 1080p (finally something that goes well)
