"chavant has no colours...that other link is an expensive way to buy a bucket of different colours, marketed for kids. What i need is a supplier of decent, 500mg slabs in a choice of colours. But thanks"

plasticine

do any of you geniuses know where a man can buy PLASTICINE? Not newplast, van aiken, etc, but actual branded 'plasticine'.It has to be original PLASTICINE because unlike newplast, it is meltable, which in my case is essential, as it can be poured into a mould.Despite having the huge advantage of owning the generic name, the manufacturers seem to do virtually nothing to push their product! i need 500mg blocks, and i need to be able to choose my colours.Anyone?See More

"Hmm yes.Id have to see them in action, but i think maybe i need to bite the bullet and go ball and socket. Those look great by the way, but ergonomics counts for a lot, and waiting for vibrating limbs to settle could double work time! This is a hero…"

"I use wire for tentacles and tails, anything that needs to bend all over.  Very long ones can be a bit bouncy, it's true, but it wasn't an issue when animating this ratty guy's tail: The support wire did tend to bounce a bit,…"

"It really depends on the size and length of the tentacles. If they're going to be really long and massive, I would recommend the old ball and socket, but if what you're making is relatively short, say 6 inches, you can get wire and cover…"

Tentacles!

Anyone have a good, budget technique to make the armature for tentacles? Skin will be foam or rubber. I don't have the budget for ball and socket. I was thinking wire with metal spacers or maybe simple screw pivots. The main issue is avoiding wobble- don't want to have to wait for it to stop shaking between every frame!
