Good day to you! I've been a stop motion enthusiast since I was a kid. It was kind of my hobby and never had a chance to take a step forward and try to attend a film school. Anyway around in the…Continue

Hi Yasas, like you, I am new to the stop motion universe although I come to it at an older age (60) so I need to accelerate my learning curve. I share your concern about money and the ill effects it's had on mankind and how we treat each other. I do think that in any transaction there is a middle ground where both parties can be happy with the deal. It sounds like you're willing to do this project for your friend just for the experience and joy of doing it, which is admirable but at the same time you want and need to be compensated for your time and the expenses you've accrued. If it were me in this situation I would make the video and give it to my friend and ask that they compensate me in a way that they can feel good about.

I came upon the stop motion world a couple of years ago and was immediately enthralled with all the possibilities and multiple disciplines the craft has to offer. I like being creative in many different ways and stop motion animation provides more opportunities than any other art form that I can think of. You can find many good tutorials on YouTube as well as the resource section of this site.

I look forward to seeing your progress and will be happy to offer any suggestions if I can.

I had to click on your profile to leave a comment because in the discussion page it says this discussion does not allow comments so you might want to check your settings so others can give you feedback.

Good luck, Darius
