"Awesome, I'm glad it worked! Love the design, very industrial and the corkscrew/wormgear looks like it would come in......."handy"??? (me, trying to sound like Dr. Evil making a pun, lol)"

"Hi Dennis thanks for the reply. I tried out your idea and it works pretty good :D I used a couple of rare-earth magnets I had laying around. She's about 7" tall."

"How big (or small) is the droid? You might be able to get away with something as simple as a set of magnets to hold the head to the body and provide friction for holding positions."

360 degree rotating droid head solution

Hi there I joined a few months ago but think this is my first question and finally hoping to get into some stop motion.I was wondering if anyone has a solution for a 360 degree rotating droid head, say like R2-D2 or a Dalek. I was thinking of using some old skateboard wheel bearings but they are so fast and I'd think would slip out of place if I tilt the character. Need something that will hold when rotating at small increments. Thanks for your time and help, DuaneSee More
