Ms. Krunkle is a stubborn Victorian governess who is all about rules and studying. I made her body in a miniatures class with celluclay. She isn't suitable for any animations since she is not articulate, but I was more interested in building her clothes! Her tailored jacket and skirt are made of wool, and her hands are cotton gloves. Roughly 12 inches tall, so a little on the larger side.

How do you sew cotton gloves that small??!  Wouldn't the seam allowance completely fill the fingers when turned inside out?  And if you cut it too close to the stitch line, it unravels, unless you seal it with fabric glue or latex, and even that can add bulk...

Although the fabric is a bit thick for the scale, it sits well and the shaping around the waist and bustle is just right.

Nice character, as well as a great job on the dress.  She's got real attitude, even if she isn't moving!  And the hair is good too.  And the tiny buttons.

Weeeelllll... what happened was, I wanted to make leather gloves for her, but I could not find leather that would be thin enough to work for the scale. Typically leather gloves are sewn with the seams on the outside, so that helps a bit. But since that wasn't working, I went with a cotton I had on hand that was the right color (Thinking maybe I could treat it later.) So I sewed the glove with a super tiny stitch and coated all of the edges with "fray check" which makes things stick together a bit better  so I could trim very very close to the seam. You are right, though, if I had not used fray check the seams would have just shredded right out.

Thanks for your comment! I would like to go back at some point and make better glasses :/ I will try to upload a closer pic of the gloves. Thanks!
