Just learning graphic designing and the software and tools that the professional designers use majorly for logo design in London. After spending three months on the Adobe Illustrator I finally understand how to use the tools like pen tool, mash tool and gradient tool which is the most used tool in the designing as per my teacher said to me. It was quite tough and hard to digest until I get to introduce to the Photoshop.

Photoshop is something out of this world. To all the possibilities and all the things you can create on that software is just unbelievable. Being a newbie to this industry is shocking to me that things that I used to admire the things that I thought must involve in any 3D software were created in the Photoshop. It is just my start on the Photoshop and currently, I am learning how I can cut and do some edits in any raster image.

That comes a question in my mind about the possibilities of Photoshop. The question that I would like to ask is about the exporting files of the Photoshop. My teacher said that Photoshop is a raster software and illustrator was a vector software. I understand the difference between both of this raster and vector but can Photoshop also produce vector images. Out of many works, I saw where must be a vector which the teacher showed us, for example, were the vector. That is why I am confused and want to know either Photoshop can also produce vector export files or not?

Photoshop is strictly raster based, it can handle vector artwork to an (albeit very basic) extent as a Smart Object layer. You certainly wouldn't be able to edit the vector image aside from scaling. In order to work with any image in Photoshop it has to first be rasterized, either on export from Illustrator or by Photoshop when imported. Going the other direction, you can import images from Photoshop to Illustrator and convert from raster line art to vectors by manually tracing or with Illustrator's Live Trace feature.

Okey. I've figured out already but thanks for the response anyway.
