Hello. My time line frames are all black, they used to show the picture in which I shot in the Dragon software. I can not copy or paste frames like I used to. Does anyone know why? or how I can get my frames back?

I am using a Nikon D300, and I have Dragon software 3.0.

Thank you so much!

Oh man - that hurts just thinking about!!!

I've never had that happen, no idea what to do about it - though the first thing that comes to mind is maybe Dragon lost the folder they're stored in?

Have you contacted the Caliris at DragonFrame?

Strider!

Thanks so much for replying!

I contacted Dragon. They said when using the Nikon D300 the live view does not do exposure simulation. This means that the live may not look anything like the final image in terms of exposure. I must use the cinematography window to set the shutter speed and other exposure settings, and take test shots, to make sure my exposure is correct before I start animating.

So I did! Apparently my shutter speed was too fast and I had to slow it down so I could get a picture! and then boom! my pictures slowly came back to my timeline. I am still learning...

I am a big fan of your website! Thanks again!

Best, Mary

Oh ok - well then I actually HAVE had that happen. In fact just yesterday I got things set up the way I wanted and found I had to open up the aperture on my lens or all I would get is solid black frames - pretty hard to animate that way, huh? But I did find I could get the results I wanted by opening up the iris a bit and choking down on exposure time to make up for it.

From what you wrote somehow I was imagining that your timeline was showing up perfectly until all of a sudden it went black.

Anyway, glad you got it taken care of, and thank you for the kind words about my website!

No, my timeline was all black, and all the frames were black! But I am glad I fixed it. I was so stressed out! Dragon support was fast to reply!

I also mentioned your website on my blog! I hope that is ok! Can't wait to see more of your stuff!!

Thanks again!!

Oh absolutely! Thanks for spreading the word! I want anyone to feel free to post about my blog or my site anytime they want.

Actually it's been a long time since I've looked at the Darkstrider site - these days I usually just mess with the actual blog - it always amazes me to see how many past entries show up on that single page on Darkstrider.net!! Wow - it goes way back, doesn't it? I don't know what's going on with all the little bad image links though - there's one at the end of each entry, and it seems to be wanting to link back to the Darkmatters blog. Wonder if there's anything I could do about that?

Nice pics on your blog! I've seen the big girl puppet before, but the deep sea diver is a new one on me. That looks really cool!

Heh - for a second I saw PMS blog and I was like wait... do I want to see this.. ?

But it doesn't mean what I thought. Much better actually.

Yeah, I dont know why it links back to the Darkmatters blog, I put the link as darkstrider.net....

Anyway, I guess you're a little hesitant about female problems and/or conditions? It's ok, most guys are, it's normal. But I hope when I finish with the birth, you still watch it!

Have a great day!
