Wanted to let you know about a new short film I am making entitled Steel Cut Oats.
I don't usually ask for help when it comes to my personal projects, but I finally bit the bullet and I'm launching a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise the necessary funds for this one, as it is far more ambitious than anything I can self-produce.
I'm pleased to be collaborating with some exceedingly talented members of the stop-mo community on this, including the amazing Ron Cole and several amazing colleagues from Stoopid Buddy and Laika.
Steel Cut Oats - Kickstarter Campaign
I'm really looking to the animation community for help with this one. Oats is an incredibly ambitious undertaking and the more you can help me spread the word about it the better!
Thank you in advance for taking a look.
Ron provided his son's voice and image editing for my last short film before school. He's a great guy. Looks like a cool project, Harry. I like the Oogie-like glowing eyes.
Thanks for the fun tutorial!
Thanks for the great feedback everyone! Fingers crossed we make it :)
Are you going to carry on regardless if your KS is successful?
Steel Cut Oats is a project I'm passionate about, and will find a way to make it no matter what.
That said, a successful KS campaign will maximize our efficiency, allow for higher quality equipment and materials, and ensure a faster, smoother production overall.
Congratulations on getting funded! That late surge took me by surprise, I thought you would end up at around $18,000, really didn't see how you'd push that up to $30,000 in the few days left, but woo hoo, you got there!
Thanks so much for supporting the project, Nick! Was definitely down to the wire (I was preparing my concession post) but so thrilled we'll be able to move forward with Steel Cut Oats!
So happy to see Steel Cut Oats moving forward. Congrats.
