(reposted from the old board in the hopes of getting maximal attention to this tragedy)
I'm posting in support of my friend Chris Rodgers, a stop motion animator in the Seattle area. You probably know of him under his screen name, Milkman Melvin.
Wednesday night, his studio was broken into and emptied out. I'm spreading awareness in the hopes that someone will see or know something. Stolen animation gear sticks out... Especially $50,000 of it...Because it is specific to stop motion (including lights, gels, tripods... I really hope this will raise the profile of the lowlifes who ripped him off.
Chris is about the nicest guy you could hope to know. I met him in 2008 and visited his studio last year where he taught me to make silicone molds. He doesn't deserve this...Please spread the info far and wide, and hope that it leads to arrests and the recovery of the stolen equipment. In the meantime, I am scouring Ebay and Craigslist for suspicious combinations of the stolen gear, in hopes that the cocky crooks are also careless enough to be caught on the internet. I have a list of everything missing, and it's just sad to see my friend so completely demolished like this by brazen criminals. His studio survived a fire recently so this is like kicking someone when they're down. Not cool...

Please help if you can...I am attaching a text document with the above list of stolen gear.
holy fucking jesus, I saw this in the news on youtube, but I never imagined was THAT much of a robbery, its like thousands and thousands of dollars savings for art's sake, bastards!!!!
Not to mention the SOFTWARE that was on the computer, and Zurg knows what irreplaceable files on the hard drives.
Really makes one want to wish for super powers...just for a day or so.
