Hi all,

What would be the best way to repair a foam rubber puppet without using foam rubber?

I have started by using cotton wool and liquid latex, but you can tell by touching it, as the foam is a lot softer than the repairs.

I want to preserve the puppet for as long as possible and get at least a short animation of it before it goes into a display case.

Thanks.

I've seen people use Barge Cement in the past to repair small cuts in foam puppets.  It works best on a clean cut.  Also, Pros-Aide is a good non-toxic alernative.

I use 3M spray adhesive no 74 or76 to stick it together or add bits on, cut urethane upholstery foam for the added bits, then liquid latex to blend it and make a new skin. I've extended the life of a few foam latex puppets that way, though eventually the foam perishes too much to be fixed.

Thanks for the respone, guys! I will give some of these suggestions a try!
