The silence is deafening. Ok, ok, I know it's a bit amateurish. I did it in about 4 hours with ambient light, improvised the script, and the reflection in the metal background is annoying. It's the first time I tried a 2d stopmo. It's limiting, but much quicker.
Your description of fridge magnets sliding around didn't sound all that interesting, so I didn't watch it when you first posted. But seeing it now - really it's cut-out style characters, it's better than I expected. Because it is the surface of the fridge, the flickering of the reflected light didn't bother me, it was part of the improvised style. I liked the simple story with the theme of theme of cooperation, and it was efficiently told - nothing missing or unclear, nothing there that didn't move the story along.
Thanks for your feed back StopmoNick. I appreciate well-thought criticism, especially from someone well-versed in stop motion.
By the way, I forgot to mention I did this <1min animation on in iPad with "Stop Motion Studio" and then just "air dropped" to my iMac and edited in Final Cut.
In the past, I've only worked with "Dragon Frame" and a Canon DSLR. If you're doing a quick simple animation, you may want to try "Stop Motion Studio" with the Ipad's camera.
