Please let me know what you think of my short film called "Comet"

Hi, My name is Dan Morrow. I thought that I'd sign up and check this site out. I like what I am seeing so far. There are definitely some talented artists on this site. My brother and I recently posted a stop motion project called "Comet". We are hoping to use the video as a pitch to create it into a larger film. Please let me know what you think!

For me, the film is too dependent on the narration - it could almost be a radio programme.  The classic advice for making a film would be "show it, don't tell it." Of course, using words as the primary means of telling the story, with minimal animation, did work for Adam Elliot in his short films (Cousin, Brother, Harvey Krumpet).   So I can't say it should never be done that way.  But for a feature length film, I would definitely want more action  ( I don't mean explosions and car chases, just more doing stuff, more animation)  with the narration reduced to give the pictures room to carry their share of the load.

However, it is an impressive achievement, a polished production, and I like the look of it.

Thanks!

That was charming! The music sounded like "some enchanted evening" from South Pacific. Very cute:)

Thanks a lot!
