Olympus Zuiko 50mm F/3.5 Macro OM Mount Manual Focus Lens

With a Canon Rebel, will this lens be ok? I'm looking to get a used manual focus lens on ebay.

I read that the Olympus Zuiko 50mm F/3.5 Macro OM Mount Manual Focus Lens would work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mark

Absolutely it will. I have the same lens. Do not buy anything that has fungus or other issues with it. And you need a cheap metal adapter ring, also available on ebay.

I also have the Nikon 55mm macro lens, and I think this is superior, but it is a lot more expensive. And to be honest the Olympus Zuiko is a very nice little lens.

Vivitar are also good, and if you are getting any more, e.g. a 35mm, 28mm or 24mm, their manual lenses are good products. Get adapter rings for each lens if you get several, and some rear Canon caps so yoiu do not have to take the ring on and off - they can be wear easily.

Thanks for the reply. Wasn't completely sure. I ended up picking up a Nikon Nikkor 55mm F/3.5 micro AI Manual Focus lens on Ebay. Hoping this will work!

I use the Nikkor 55mm f/3.5 micro AI manual, very happy with it.  Agree with Simon, the adapter attaches to the lens, and then the whole thing goes onto the camera, so it is good to have an adapter for each lens and a Canon rear cap. I also have an Olympus OM adapter which I got because I have a few old OM lenses.  So far I've only used it with a zoom, mainly for behind-the-scenes time-lapse while shoot the actual animation with a Nikon lens, but it means I can use the old OM mount 50mm and 28mm for backup if my Nikon lenses should develop a problem.

Great lens. You will not be disappointed. Reviews all class this as excellent.
