Nice creepy dark carnival type stopmo in American Horror Story: Freak Show opening credits

Just saw the premiere tonight, and was amazed to see stopmotion in the credits. Oh, some weird sexual stuff going on, mostly between skeletons - just a heads up.

Very cool stuff...

Voltaire??

After some googling I came across this interview about the making of the intro...

Nice find! I was thinking about doing the same search, but never did it. It's just refreshing in this day and age to be able to see some nice dark, creepy clown-and-skeleton stopmotion based on Starevitch with a Quay/Svankmejer feel to it. Seems like it's been a long time since anybody has really done this kind of stuff. And it's done at a really good quality level.

I agree Strider, it was an unexpected treat to see the opening with stop motion... I wish it would happen more often.

Who knows, it might kick off a new trend? It'll be seen on televisions all across the world, again and again and again, embedding itself in the mass consciousness (or more likely the collective unconscious where it was doubtless spawned).

All I got was, "The uploader has not made this video available in your country."  Probably holding it back until this series airs here.  I was able to look at some of the earlier titles on the page Philmation linked to though, very atmospheric and I like the theme music.

Thats a shame Nick, hopefully it will air over there in the coming weeks. It is an interesting show, this season is off to a great start (has one of the creepiest clowns in it that I have ever seen)

That would be great Strider, I would love to see more Stop Motion on prime time television!
