I'm taking on another project to build a stop motion puppet for a new film called 'Faceless Neil'. The film's creator (Noella Borie) is funding the project privately and it will be completed with at least the budget it currently has... but in addition to that, she has started a Kickstarter campaign to raise some 'quality control cash' to hopefully give the production some financial breathing room.

The film involves a set of characters that Noella has already produced quite a bit of preparation work for, including a 2D animated film and another stop motion film with so... this girl is SERIOUS! When you visit the Kickstarter page you'll be able to see lots of the preproduction work she's accomplished for the production already.

Due to the fact that I'm already committed to working on another film (Legend of the Golden Fishcake) I couldn't commit to making both of the two character puppets I was requested to make so, I've also enlisted an old friend - Sal Denaro to make the other one and I'm sure he'll do a great job.

Project looks interesting, i might kick some money towards this this weekend when I get a couple bucks. How long is the short film supposed to be?

I'll ask the film maker. Because I'm not doing the animation, I never asked.

The Kickstarter page has already raised $2,505 towards the goal in just a couple of days! Wowzers and THANK YOU!!!

Ha True! Very soon I will have worked on stuff for the past couple of years that I WILL SHOW... NDA/agreement or not. There is a reasonable time limit on holding my work hostage beyond which, I will challenge with public disclosure. Lawsuits and bitching be damned.

Yes! be damned!  We want to see it ALL!   

 

Well, I've been animating on various projects for the past 3 years (at least) most of which I cannot show anything from and considering that I've done most of it for little to no pay - being able to SHOW IT is really my main motivation for doing it. So yeah, I will notify the parties that may object but, I really NEED to be able to post an animation reel online for the world to see, otherwise all that work has been for nothing.

Did the new Sinbad trailer ease ANY of the pain?

When the finished film comes out the world will know. Hopefully pedal  is meeting metal on that.

But, I would eagerly anticipate a trailer of "best of" of all your work.

Yes actually, the new preview really did ease my frustration a bit about not being able to show my work... but those are such short clips! (and they're not my favorite shots either)

I liked the crab lunging forward, but there are definitely better clips of the Cyclops.

People are gonna be blown away when they see that fight...it's truly amazing!

Next step in the mold making process...

Interesting puppet ... should be fun to animate.  

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your "secret" work too.
