First I will introduce myself ... My name is Armando, I am 42 years old and I am from Madrid (Spain). Although I have been registered for a long time in this forum I have not had the opportunity to actively participate, as I considered myself with the sufficient level to do it by seeing other members and their excellent work.
However today I think it is time to show my project, which has been in my head for more than 10 years and although I am gradually giving shape but there is still a lot to do and it is one of the reasons why I encourage you to participate in various forums Specialized like this to be able to ask for advice and help to be able to take it again.
I do not want to seem heavy with my presentation so in general lines I will tell you that I am Video Editor, 3D Graphic Designer and some things more related to the audiovisual sector but unfortunately today I can not dedicate myself and live in it.
My beginnings at StopMotion were when I was 12 or 13 when playing with my favorite toys, the Playmobil figures. I always liked them and used to spend hours recreating movie scenes with them. One day testing a Handycam camcorder on I started making small video clips in what I still did not know was the StopMotion.
I used to record and stop the camera directly ... SM in its purest essence and then reproduced it and watched as the dolls came to life ... without me knowing it I was taking my first steps with the SM. But what I liked the most was to construct the scenarios, to experiment with different effects that I saw in the "Making of" reports of films of that time and little by little I was being trapped by this wonderful technique of animation.
Over time that type of game was parked, but years later I rescue it with more strength and passion than ever. By then I had also discovered another exciting world, 3D design, and since again my playmobil dolls were also chosen this time to learn and practice ... Dedicate years and years to model everything I had of them ... houses, Castles, figures and various elements ... with the idea of being able to do some project with them someday.
As a passionate collector of these toys participated actively in specialized forums of Playmobil showing my models and the acceptance was amazing. There was nothing similar to date because unlike other brands of toys like LEGO, the German company had not yet bet on this technique.
I contacted them to teach them my 3D work and although the recognition was positive and they congratulated me for the quality of them, they told me that in modeling they could not be useful because they already generated their models in AUTOCAD previously To produce the pieces later, but if I taught them something animated maybe it might interest them.
And that's where my dreams almost fade ... I consider myself a 3D modeler, not an animator ... in those years already have hired a studio that starts to make 3D animations so that the train escapes me.
But I do not give up ... during those years (1999) I accidentally discover a series of games for PC that develops the Canadian company Ubisoft that is precisely about the dolls Playmobil ... I am so amazed by the quality of the graphics and the History of the game that I decide to try to make the video game movie using for my already at that time more than generous collection of Playmobil, and not to waste all the work of modeling in 3D I think of shooting the movie in Stop Motion combining the 3D for visual effects Thus avoiding having to damage any of my pieces or real figures.
Throughout the following years I dedicate myself to gather as much information as possible about the game and analyze it intensely to shape my future film trying not to discover the plot of the game itself.
Thanks to the social networks I get to know and create a blog that I call "Diary of Shooting" where I get to know the project and show the progress of the same as I go through ... Scenarios, Effects, Tests and other material can Be consulted today for those curious who want to know it.
And it is at this point that I find myself ...
I hope it is of your interest and I apologize in advance for if at any time I was heavy with my doubts and questions will be many.
I send you a greeting from Spain
LONG LIVE SM!
