Hi all

Whilst I do a spot of animation myself, I am more of a composer. I've worked with poets, animators and bands.. Anyway, I would love to collaborate with some of you folks out there in animatorland! I can do most kinds of music, sound effects etc.. with weird orchestral and rock being my strongest styles. Here's an example below from a collaboration with Poet Paul Thwaites, and also a link to my soundcloud page. I look forward to hearing from you.

The end of all things

please feel free to use the above track in your films.. just please credit me!

Couldn't get access to the server yesterday, but it worked today.

I liked Mungo's theme -Kind of like if Elsa the Lioness joined the Rebel Alliance!

Ha! Thanks for that, glad you liked it. I've got tons of music knocking about.. I'd like to see it used for something, rather than languishing on a hard drive..

Great stuff! What software do you typically use?

Thanks Aaron! Cubase 6 (although an upgrade to 7 is overdue) mainly, with orchestral sounds from East West Symphonic Orchestra. For effects, my absolute favourite is speakerphone by Audio ease. What about you?

I mainly used Pro Tools these days. I've had a lot of fun with Reason in the past, but it doesn't suit my needs lately. I use the Battery plugin for drums - my samples consist of my crappy drum kit at home, plus a bunch of other found noise - chimes, clinks, clanks, etc. Piano and Bass are VSTs, usually played manually but with a quantize setting applied. Most everything else I just play live - guitars, vocals, theremin, banjo. I mic the acoustic stuff, and just go direct in for electric stuff. I love making music though - it's half the fun of animating!

I'm definitely more familiar with the audio production process than I am with the video editing/making stuff.

Your music on your Zombie flick is awesome. Is that you singing? Bloody good. I use pro tools in my day job, but I find Cubase a lot more flexible and creative. I totally agree about miking stuff too!

Thanks Nick - Yeah, me singing on that one. I've heard good things about Cubase, but haven't ever used it. I bought PT about 10 years ago, and have been upgrading along the way - I'm financially committed at this point to sticking with it. There's also the comfort in familiarity factor...

Too true. Familiarity is the key. I'm way faster on Cubase than anything else..

Awesome music. I love the cinematic feel to it all. Keep up the good work:)
