Just a quick reminder that the deadline for the 2012 Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival is rapidly approaching (September 21st). The festival is free to enter, and there are categories for academic films, independent films and professional films alike, so be sure to submit an entry form online and get those films in!

The program schedule and ticket information for this year's edition of the festival have been posted on our website! The full list of selected films will be psted online shortly! Our special guests and judges this year are Merlin Crossingham, Creative Director of Wallace and Gromit, Laika's Mark Shapiro, and Chris Walsh from Mad Lab Productions! Puppets from Paranorman, Coraline, and Wallace and Gromit will be there!

It's here! The 4th Annual Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival is back, showcasing the best stop motion short films the world has to offer! Screening over 70 films across 4 competitive categories, the festival will also be hosting two free family-friendly screenings, stop motion workstations using Stop Motion Pro and will feature talks by special guest speakers!



This year's guests and judges are:

LAIKA's Mark Shapiro - Mark will be on hand with puppets from Coraline and Paranorman, and will be talking about the making of the film.

Aardman's Merlin Crossingham - Creative director for Wallace and Gromit, Merlin will be bring the British dynamic duo themselves! Come say hi to Wallace and Gromit!

Mad Lab Productions' Chris Walsh - Co-owner of Mad Lab Productions, co-founder of the Burlington Animation Festival and stop motion professor at Sheridan College will be talking about his stop motion path and process.


Truly, the Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival is the ultimate stop motion weekend!
