I just published a podcast with Dale Hayword (See Creature) who directed Bone Mother for the National Film Board of Canada

Some highlights include how he developed a 3D printing process for the replacement faces, the complete process of what it took to film the 8 minute short, and also how to appear more legit to potential brands that want to hire you.

Here's the episode. I hope you enjoy :)

It was a great episode! I've followed Dale for the duration of the development of the film and I love hearing about the behind-the-scenes notes about the process. Bone Mother is a great piece, with real sense of loss and cruelty. Being so polished, it seems hard to imagine that there was struggle involved, but that's a part of the process as well.

I was happy to hear his plan for mentoring other filmmakers with his new endeavor.

I haven't gone thru your older episodes but I plan on it.

Cheers!

Thanks Geoff, Dale is a really great guy and I'm so impressed by his work.

I have interviewed a few other stop motion animators in previous episodes. Let me know if you end up giving them a listen :)
