I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Morezmore armatures. Here's the link: https://morezmore.wordpress.com/2018/04/18/hpa-m2-basic-step-by-ste... These can be found on ebay as well. I'm planning on a foam body with interchangeable silicone arms and legs. I likely wouldnt put it through more than a couple weeks filming. Even if you haven't used them what are your thoughts based on the construction? Would it work for what I need?
I have, I just bought one a few weeks ago. I'm not sure I can give much input since It's my first armature so I have nothing to compare it to. I purchased it because of the low price. She has tons of stuff in her ebay store. I posted a picture a few weeks ago with the one I put together using mostly JB weld. It seems to pose ok, but again, I've never had one before so I don't know. I figured for the price, you can't go wrong.
Yeah, great price. I've spent a better part of a day on their ebay listings. lol I guess if I were to get more specific I'd want to know if it felt sturdy in hand. If the joints moved smoothly and held position. Appreciate the reply man. Hope your project goes well with it.
They look great, I spent a day browsing the store too! It does strike me that a lot of these rigs have two joints at elbow and knee instead of one. Seems it would be fiddle to lock one of the two up, and adjust limb length to compensate? Or do the double joints look good? I can't picture it, the knee and elbow would not bend with a point...
Good point. The only benefit I can think of is that it might give you some simple rotation of the arms and legs? Maybe someone will chime in on that. The one that seems the most useless is the joint in the upper spine. The rib cage is a non movement area. So I plan to use a longer rod there and leave the joint in the abdomen.
My only comment is that the shoulders come straight out. If you use a lower chest block with rods coming upwards to a joint, then outwards, it allows the possibility of shrugging the shoulders. Not a problem if you don't need that sort of movement.
I have been able to mix parts to get what I need when an armature doesn't quite do what I want, so for example using Animation Toolkit's single joints instead of the doubles at the knee would free up 2 doubles for you to use in the shoulders if you wanted to.
