Hey stopmotimators, I'm working on a stop motion music video, my first stop mo project in about 8 years. I've fabricated my puppets out of Smooth-On's flex-it cold foam, with a latex skin painted with latex & acrylic. I've made certain accessories for my puppets out of Bake and Bend Sculpy that I'd like to glue onto the puppet bodies.
Any recommendations for glues that won't eat/melt/destroy my puppets? I've done this before, but it was 8 years ago, and I forget what glue i used, but I think it was just your usual epoxy.
That sounds like a job for Barge or Pliobond. Both flexible contact cements used to glue rubber soles onto shoes and super strong. Should do the trick. You can pick them up at hardware stores, ACE carries them both I think.
Be sure to follow the instructions - you need to brush on and let it tack up for a couple minutes and hold or clamp tightly for a while - don't just stick them together right away or it won't hold.
