Wow, this looks really nice!

Will there be any extras/behind-the-scenes content on the DVD? And does it come signed? Also, do you know how much shipping to the UK will be? Thanks.

Good luck with the funding.

The project looks lovely, and I would like to give you my support, but when I clicked on the crowdfunding website, almost none of it is in English! Sorry to be so dumb, but could you provide an English translation of the rewards at least?

Which search engine are you using, Simon? I'm using Chrome, which sometimes translates automatically, though this time I had to right click on the web-page where it gave the option to translate to English.

I'm still using Internet Explorer, I'll right click to see if it offers a translation. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Karolina,

This is a pretty old post I just discovered, but what a beautiful teaser this is! Also quite a daring technique you chose, animating the fur and snow in such a detailed way.

A question, this summer I'm coming to Česko with my family and as a true lover of the works of Jiri Trnka, Jan Svankmajer, Jiri Barta, Krtek and Pat&Mat we hope to discover some more on the rich Czech Animation culture (history). However, it seems so hard to find info on places to visit, people to meet. Google isn't very helpful when researching the East. :S (out of Belgium, that is ;)  )

Would you like to share some tips (studios, book stores, museums,...) on Czech Stop-Motion Animation?

Kind regards,

and of coarse, we wish you lots of succes with your current and future projects!

Bart

Hi Bart!

thank You for Your message. Where Aare You from? Actually I am not author of the movie Firts Snow, the director is Lenka Ivančíková (http://www.lenkaivancikova.com/prvni-snih-story).

I have Czech website about animation Animuj.cz, but 90% of the content is in Czech, but it will changes. I live in Prague and I have few tips for You.

1) Museum of Karel Zeman (http://www.muzeumkarlazemana.cz/en)

2) Anifilm - the biggest festival of animation in Czech Republic in May (city Trebon, close to Austria) (http://www.anifilm.cz/cs/)

3) Museum of Jiri Trnka in Plzen (it´s a city, around 100km from Prague), there is also Czech Puppet Museum (marionettes), in this city is also Art College, where teachs Jiri Barta, You can contact him and meet with him in his atelier (jiri@barta.in).

When are You going to visit Czech Republic? Maybe can helps You our Animator´s Calendar 2018, You can find there few informations about submits, deadlines, animation festivals, birthdays of famous animators etc... (http://animuj.cz/produkt/the-calendar-for-animators/)

Best Regards

Karolina Cizkova

Hi Karolina,

Thanks for the info! All of this is impossible to come by thru Google. :/ On the other hand, Google Translate helps me a bit in understanding Czech websites. ;)

I'm from Belgium, and we are coming over this summer (24/7-7/8), camping in Otovice and some days around Prague to discover the city. And now, I see, Plzen will be on the route as well. :D (I can't seem to find anything on a Trnka Museum yet, but we keep looking. Plzen looks fun to visit)

The Animator's Calendar looks like a great initiative! Could be helpful, indeed.

- My kids (and their dad) are great fans of Pat&Mat, do you know if there's anything they could see or enjoy regarding these characters? A Pat&Mat-World or so? ;)

- First Snow really looks fabulously made, looking at the pictures on the website. Is this short available on dvd? Maybe I can pick one up this summer?

Looking forward visiting your country!

Kind regards,

Bart
