'd like to connect a Canon HV20 (an HDV video camera) to a Macbook Pro via firewire for use with Dragonframe. I've done this in the past with a Dell PC via an expresscard adaptor.
Has anyone used a Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter for something like this? I'm usually on PC and I'm looking to see if anyone on these boards has had success (or problems) with using a HDV camera with Dragonframe on the Mac.
Yeah, I got a Thunderbolt/Firewire converter and it works perfectly for me. No problems at all with it.
Thanks. Are you using Dragonframe as well?
Yeah - but my setup is a bit different from yours. The firewire is from an analog/digital converter, carrying the live view feed from my camera, which is standard def. So I can't say for sure if it can handle an HD stream. Guess I should have mentioned that - sorry, it didn't occur to me. And my computer is an iMac, not a Macbook.
Thanks for clarifying!
