I used this foam as clip foam in college (10 years ago!) to make a puppet.  It was fantastic stuff!  Not too porous.  Thick, but not too thick.  I'm having a hard time remembering what kind it is.  I almost think it was used as some kind of filter.  It came wrapped in plastic I believe in individual wrappers.

Any idea what this is?  Or tips on what else to use?  I don't like green upholstery foam, I want something that won't absorb that much.

Let me know if you know!  Or have suggestions!

Thanks,

Emily

Looks very similar to cosmetic sponge foam which is a type of polyurethane.  I'm also very interested to see it in that form.

I got this from another site I posted to:

"it’s not like makeup sponge is it? You can buy solid blocks of that as described in about 3”x 4”
**also search I200 foam as another option" (from Frends beauty supply online)

That definitely looks like latex foam. I haven't seen it in bigger sizes than make-up sponges in the UK, but then I haven't really looked. It is certainly nice to handle, and perfect for sticking latex to.
