Where does he find the time to do all those videos. Crazy!

Yeah Patrick Boivin uses mostly toys from Hot toys, theres also this guy I found

"Counter656"

He uses alot of anime figures from Revoltech, Figurearts, and looks like alot of gundam model kits too. Pretty much any figure that has a Revoltech style joint system.

With the number of views they are achieving on Youtube, it's likely a full time job for them.

I think patrick has gotten alot of commercial work from his videos... his At At day afternoon short really went super viral a couple years ago and got him alot of attention

Yeah I think they probably do that full time, or if not they work in something related where they can easily do it on the side, sadly I wish I had more time lol.

I used to animate the old G.I. Joes like this:

I received the Modibot I talkd about earlier and used it to shoot this for work. I had to shoot this super quick, and cheap n' dirty. I didn't even have time to build a two tier-set or a proper tie-down system, and I was animating somewhat blind (no onion skin during capture mode).

Since the modibot is made up entirely of ball socket joints, it has an extreme amount of flexibility. It's also incredibly light, which is great because I was using a set that hung over the side of a table. There's enough friction in the joints to keep poses. In fact, since the figure is so light and the joints on a new modibot are fairly stiff, you really need to hold onto your figure tightly when moving a limb to make sure it doesn't move on you. The joints will probably loosen up and be more comfortable to move with time. It also comes with a single hole in each foot, which is nice. the feet aren't hinged in the middle though, so no tippy-toe animation. Since the figure is so light and the ball-socket joints are just snap-together pieces, you couldn't use it as a real armature inside a puppet, but by itself it's so light and flexible that it's great to use just to get in some quick stop motion practice.
