Haven't seen any updates recently about getting access going for the old SMA Message Board archive. I really miss it, and need some of the information in it. Just sayin'.

When I searched the WayBack, it gave me a message that the "no robots" feature had been activated and it did not have any images of the board. . . yaargh!

It seems like the Wayback caught everything except the protected forums and a few images hosted off-site, as far as I can tell. If there's enough info from the last capture of the old board, I wonder if that would help the "reconstruction" at al
Hey Martin! Yeah, I've long since given up on ever seeing the old board again, except via the Wayback. It does have some early snaps of the site, circa something like 2004 and previous if I remember right. Actually I don't remember the year, but I do recall I was able to find some versions of the early board.
See the graphic showing the timeline across the top - you can see it shows the most activity in 2005, tapering off in both directions as you move away from that year. When I snapped this image I was looking at 2011 (that's why it's highlighted yellow) and you can see the beginning of the calendar below it. See the blue discs on jan 29 and feb 8? those are days that are archived. Click on one of them and it will begin to rebuild the archive, which takes a little while. I checked 2011 to see if that was new board or old - it's the beginning of the new board (wow, was it really that long ago?)
There's nothing from 2009 and 10, but before that it's pretty well documented, though I haven't looked in recently and I don't remember how much info is actually there. Think I'll take a gander about.
Ok, I think I see what the problem is. Many of the links I tried didn't work. Some did, but it takes a while to find a decent snap and even then some of the pages just show 404 errors.
Heh, 2004 is the year I joined. Wouldn't be surprised to see my goofy posts showing up in the Wayback snaps.
As far as the slapping goes- I think it's a Monty Python thing. But Paul would appreciate it more if you used a trout. Or maybe a marlin...
