Hi, a year a go I asked help for making moco system from the board. Simon Tytherleigh was greatly helpfull and i got my things rolling. Many thanks for Simon for helping me out! Mainly I used moco for animating light of fire in over 100 shots.
Here is small teaser from the film:
More phots etc.:
Looks very good, great animation and lighting! I look forward to the finished film. It is good to see you are still working with stop motion. (I have a DVD copy of Elukka from a few years ago.)
Hi Nick! Thank you for your kind words. I spend 7 years to trying to do feature and that dragged my energy for stop motion for while. Previous stop motion was Elukka, made in 2005. Time flies!
This was my first film where I did lighting by myself. Pro DOP would have made things look even prettier, but there is something nice in DIY method (at least financially).
Wow! That's looking lovely. Fantastic animation. One to look forward to! Glad I was able to be of some help.
How did you do the movement of the waves?
Simon you were great help.
The waves was done with round bars below the fake fur textile. I teped lumps to the bars and rotated the bars frame by frame. I tried to use steppermotor attached to threaded rod to rol the bars. But i did not have right cogwheels to match the rods thread, so it was much faster to do it manually than spend couple of extra days to make motorized sea to work.
Sometimes simple is better! Looks very good.
