My name is Sam Roe. I am a digital sculptor using Zbrush and a number of other programs. In 2015 I had the pleasure of working on the currently filming Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires in South Wales creating armature components and props digitally for 3D print.
About 10 years ago I was a frequent poster of SMA.com and I'm pleased to say the education I received from here really helped drive me to get to work on that film. I really want to continue in this direction, because I've had a passion for stop motion for as long as I can remember.
When I was studying for an associate's degree I was pretty positive I wanted to be a stop motion animator, but when I attended my second college, the lack of facilities, money, and resources for stop motion discouraged me and I shifted into 3D Graphics. It was an amazing experience to work on the Chuck Steel film because I got to use my current skills to re-ignite an old flame.
I now have two 3D printers at home and am experimenting with them and hoping to get back into the stop motion industry if possible.
If anybody has any 3D printing needs, please send me a message, or has questions about 3D modelling for print / stop motion, I'd be happy to talk shop!
Thanks for all the help in the past and future :)
