Hello!

I'm pretty new here but thought I'd say hello. I'm a stop motion animator/model maker trying to work my way in to industry or get myself to a point of being able to freelance full time.

I work mainly in plasticine but would like to move over to silicone/latex at some point.

I've attached a few snaps of my models. Any feedback would be much appreciated! You can see more on my Instagram page @dr_designasaur if you're interested.

Very nice work man, really loved the monsters, would love to know more on how you made them. Didn't they harden out after time (since plasticine tends to do this) or am I mistaken?

Thanks Ed!

Thank you! These guys weren't really animated that much but were surprisingly steady on their feet without armatures. You can see the film Big Bad Monsters at www.vimeo.com/designasaur/bigbadmonsters if you're interested.

Nice work, love the monster from the center. Can you animate those guys without an armature?

Thank you very much! They held out okay for the duration of the filming process - I stored them wrapped in sandwich bags/clingfilm in boxes out of the way while they weren't in use which seemed to keep them from drying out pretty well.

Wow! Good work dude!

Hi Simon,

Thanks for taking the time out to give me some feedback! Big Bad Monsters was actually made a couple of years ago now and I feel that I've learned a lot since making it. Looking back, I agree that the ending is weak and there are definitely areas that I could have tightened up a lot. Thank you for the pointers, I'll keep them in mind moving forward.

Thanks for the tips on the models too - they're really useful!

My latest film, made earlier this year is online at www.vimeo.com/designasaur/strangerdanger if you're interested to see how I've progressed.

Thanks again! Much appreciated.

Just watched your latest, really like it! The band in particular is excellent. And your sense of humour comes across very well. Might have been good to see some progression in the accidents before bringing in the ambulance - perhaps having the ambulance run over one of the skateboarders too....?
